Hut's Hamburgers

Hut's Hamburgers
Austin, Texas
Ritchie Valens Burger
Guacamole, Grated Cheddar, Chopped Tomatoes, Onions, Jalapenos, Mayo & Mustard
$8.50

Over the weekend, I had a mini vacation to the beautiful Austin, Texas and while I was berated with multiple suggestions on where I should go for my next review, I settled on Hut's Hamburgers due to it's unique atmosphere and great sounding reviews online. Needless to say, I was a little underwhelmed.
The menu sports a TON of different variety of burgers and I couldn't pick one so I had the server tell me which were the most popular and went from there. Enter: The Ritchie Valens Burger. The Burger itself had a good mix of toppings and with the Guac, Cheddar, and Jalapenos alone, it sort of felt like it was a burger with a little Mexican kick. With it's spicy kicks due to the guacamole and jalapenos, I felt like the grated cheddar was actually a bad call for this burger. It was just sprinkled on and I felt that it would have made this burger A LOT better if they had in fact gone with a Queso cheese on it.
The meat itself was met with some mixed reviews by both me and my fiance. While the patty was a good size and was juicy, it didn't give off any flavor of seasoning, which could have helped this burger in this instance.
I was not able to get the exact weight of the burger, but if I had to guess, I would say it came in at a little under a pound, which for the price was a reasonable amount of food.
In hindsight, I don't think I would get this exact burger again if I visited, but I definitively would be open to trying a different burger at Hut's to give them another go.

VERDICT: 3 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

BurgerFi

BurgerFi The Woodlands, TX Cheeseburger American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, BurgerFi Sauce $7.47 For today, I had the luck of being at BurgerFi's Customer Appreciation Day (which was really just a reopening) and happened to be one of the 50 who got the free burgers for a year, and normally I would be super excited about that, but unfortunately, the burger has me less excited that I have to eat 51 more of them within the next year. To start off, my order was wrong, which I get it was super busy so I'm not going to hold that against them, but I hope that is not a regular thing. Once I did get my correct order and sat down to eat, I was very surprised by how small the burger was. My fiance got a single patty burger and there was no way that was filling. When you have the double patty, it was a little more obviously, but the burgers are VERY hand held. The bun was probably my favorite part of the whole burger. It was thick enough to absorb the liquids on th...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...
