$8.99

I got this burger because as soon as I saw the "Dr. Pepper BBQ Sauce" my mind snapped back to the #1 burger that I have found on my hunt (Snuffers) and thought that Grub may have recreated that sauce and it may have a similar taste. While I was wrong on that, I wasn't disappointed.
Starting with the sauce, the sauce was good and it MIGHT have had a certain Dr. Pepper flavor, I couldn't really tell very much, but it was NOWHERE near as good as the other Dr. Pepper sauce that I had. But let me reiterate, it was still a fine sauce and was great on the burger.
The bacon was good, it was a bit thick but since it had a lot of flavor, it balanced out the thickness that I am usually unaccustomed to. I honestly could not taste the cheddar cheese at all. I think cheddar is always the best call in a BBQ style burger, but I just didn't even know it was on there for half of the burger.
The last unique topping we will talk about it actually the one I was not a fan of. The Onion Rings. Now I love a good onion ring as an appetizer and it sounds like a good topping on a burger, but for this particular burger, I was not a fan. These onion rings are GIANT. And once again, these onion rings would be great as a stand alone but as you can see from the picture, it made the burger so tall that it was tough to eat getting everything in one bite. I think a better touch would have been to have some crispy onion strings.
The meat itself was very good, but I expect no less from a big burger chain, they should have worked out any kinks in their top products if they are supplying them nationwide. The meat was juicy and soft and had a good amount of flavor, making it one of my more favorite meats in the past few weeks if not months.
The burger as I mentioned earlier is very TALL. It's a lot of food crammed on to what feels like a little bun. The bun holds up well and had great flavor, but I did have to remove one of the onion rings to make it a comfortable eat.
All in all, this was a very good burger and I would have it again if I go back to Grub, this time with one of the awesome milkshakes.

VERDICT: 4 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

Omega Grill

Omega Grill Spring, TX BBQ Burger Farm 44 Meat, BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, & Fried Onions $12.99 For my first review back home, I decided to go to a place that I have always seen but never really tried until now and I am kind of mad at myself for not trying it to begin with. As I was researching this place, I found online that they have an award winning Breakfast Burger and I was very eager to try it as I hadn't really had a breakfast burger on this blog yet, so it was something new, but when I arrived at the place, it turns out that their prices online were wrong and this burger was going to be $17. I frankly just wasn't willing to take a chance that day on something I might not like, so I opted with what the waitress said was their 2nd most popular option, their BBQ burger, and I wasn't let down. First of all, I thought the presentation was great. How they stacked the onion rings and ingredients was super fun and I love it. But let's get ...

Southwell's Hamburger Grill

Southwell's Hamburger Grill Houston, TX Bacon Cheeseburger Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, and Onions with American Cheese and Bacon. $6.40 For this week's burger trip, I decided to try out Southwell's Hamburger Grill in Houston, TX. Now I have lived in Houston my whole life and I have never heard about his place (despite it having 4 locations in the Houston area) until I looked through a burger suggestion post on Facebook, and frankly, I probably could have gone the rest of my life without hearing about it. Now before anyone jumps to any super negative conclusions, the burger wasn't "bad". It just was not what I was looking for. The meat was a pretty good size and was pretty juicy but didn't really have any seasoning, the bun seemed to be a typical hamburger bun out of a package, and the cheese seemed to be just a regular old slice of American cheese thrown on at the last parts of the grilling process. I didn't like how...

Walden War-Tejas Cafe

Tejas Cafe (Mariel's Deli) & (Walden Market) Montgomery, TX Tejas Burger Cheese, Jalapenos, Onions, Cilanto & Chipotle Mayo on a Jalapeno Bun (with Ketchup at Tejas Cafe Walden Market) $7 For this week, I had a friend recommend me a place to go but when looking up the place, I found that there were two of the same name on the same road and when I couldn't get a hold of said friend, I had a very tough decision to make. I either tried one and hoped it was the right one, or I TRY THEM BOTH. I got both, and therefore we have the War on Walden Road between the Two Tejas Cafes. Now both Tejas Cafes are within Shell gast stations on Walden road, one in the Shell that has "Mariel's Deli" and one that has "Walden Market". Before I start, I can tell there is some skepticism, "You want me to eat gas station food?" Trust me, I had THE SAME THOUGHT before I was led to this place, but holy shit was I wrong. THIS PLACE IS GREAT. Ri...
