BurgerFi

BurgerFi
The Woodlands, TX
Cheeseburger
American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, BurgerFi Sauce
$7.47

For today, I had the luck of being at BurgerFi's Customer Appreciation Day (which was really just a reopening) and happened to be one of the 50 who got the free burgers for a year, and normally I would be super excited about that, but unfortunately, the burger has me less excited that I have to eat 51 more of them within the next year.
To start off, my order was wrong, which I get it was super busy so I'm not going to hold that against them, but I hope that is not a regular thing.
Once I did get my correct order and sat down to eat, I was very surprised by how small the burger was. My fiance got a single patty burger and there was no way that was filling. When you have the double patty, it was a little more obviously, but the burgers are VERY hand held. The bun was probably my favorite part of the whole burger. It was thick enough to absorb the liquids on the burger and still retain form and had a good taste to it.
Once we get in between the buns, is where the problems start. The toppings were average toppings so nothing to talk about there, the cheese was very melted, which was great because I love a good amount of cheese on a burger, but then the meat killed the burger for me. The meat was undercooked and tasted very bland and dry. It almost tasted like a lower quality White Castle, which for the price I'm paying is absurd. To make matters worse, it was chewy and crumbly.
The final nail in the coffin for this burger was the sauce. The BurgerFi sauce is a large collection of mixed ingredients with a mayo base, but his sauce was like 90% mayo, it's almost all I tasted in every bite, which was awful, I just was not a fan of the sauce.
To be honest, I will have to give this place another shot due to to the fact that I have the free for a year, but I'm not too keen on the prospect of it.

VERDICT: 2 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...

Bar Louie

Bar Louie The Woodlands, TX Bourbon BBQ Burger House-made Bourbon BBQ Sauce, White Cheddar, Cream Cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Crispy Onion Strings $12.50 While I do try my hardest to avoid the national chains in order to give more recognition to the mom and pop burger places out here trying to gain the success of the chains, I have to say, I was pretty blown off my feet by Bar Louie's Bourbon BBQ Burger. (Say that 5 times fast) The most interesting thing about this burger (and one thing I sadly had to dock them a little bit for) was the cream cheese. Cream Cheese on a burger tasted VERY good, I liked it for the first few bites, but then I kept hitting secret pockets of Cream Cheese that in some bites, that was all I was tasting. In moderation, this is an amazing topping to have on a BBQ burger. As we flip to the other cheese on the burger, we had white cheddar. White Cheddar is an excellent choice for a BBQ flavored burger, and while it was melted on to the...
