Mia's Table

Mia's Table
The Woodlands, TX
Patty Melt
Pepper Jack Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Jaime's Secret Sauce on Texas Toast
$12.49

This week we tried out Mia's Table in the Woodlands (though they have 2 other locations in the Houston area) and was pleasantly surprised.
Mia's Table doesn't have a crazy amount of burger options, but the employee at the counter said a lot of people get the Patty Melt, and while I enjoy a good one, that's what I ended up going with.
I'm going to start with the negatives, because honestly if these 2 things had been fixed, this might have been a 4.5. The first thing that I wasn't crazy about was the Jaime's Secret Sauce, which is a combination of Louisiana Hot Sauce, Mayonnaise, Dijon Mustard, Salt, & Pepper but to me, the Dijon Mustard was REALLY strong in it and it kind of threw off the whole taste of the burger for me. The other thing really killed it for this burger was the caramelized onions. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a HUGE fan of caramelized onions and I will almost always order a burger that has them given the choice, but here they made a grave error in basically not having them featured. Firstly, they used very small diced onions which would be hard to pick the flavor up in anyway, but then they put a very small helping of them, and then doused them in the secret sauce. I basically had forgotten the onions were there most of the time as the sauce took over most of the flavor of this burger.
Besides these two points, this burger was INCREDIBLE and even with the score I gave it, I would definitely recommend everyone to try it for themselves. The toast was very thick and held up against the liquidity of the combined sauce, grease, and cheese making it very easy to eat. The meat was very greasy and flavorful which was awesome, and the pepper jack cheese was melted perfectly onto the burger that I was able to get a good amount of cheese in every bite. Finally, this burger is one of the more filling burgers that I have had in recent weeks and I didn't even need to eat for the rest of the day because of how big it was, great burger, great value.

VERDICT: 3.5 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...

Lord's Kitchen

Lord's Kitchen San Antonio, TX 1/2 lb Cheeseburger Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Onion $10.25 I usually love my trips out of town because I get to go to a burger place that I don't have access to on a daily basis within my local area, but instead I was left with a severe feeling of disappointment on my drive home after eating a burger from the Lord's Kitchen. I opted to go with a regular cheeseburger because I wanted a full meal of fries and a drink and looking back now, I should maybe have gotten a specialty burger instead. The toppings that came on this burger were all the average things that you would expect from a burger place and it didn't taste like they were high quality, now they did not taste like they were of bad quality, just an average kind of taste. The meat, which I feel like should be the thing that you should take pride on, was bland. It honestly tasted to me like a burger that one may find at a drive thru like Burger King or Wend...
