Buckle up for a bumpy ride because there's not much going right with this burger this week. Now before I start tearing it apart, I do have to disclose that it was really busy so that MAY have something to do with parts of it, but it's hard to use that excuse to justify most of the faults this burger has.
The meat itself was all around disappointing and actually caused me to not even eat the burger in it's entirety. While I get most of my burgers medium with a little pink, this burger was basically still mooing. Now like I said earlier, this could be due to how busy the kitchen was, but still it made the burger unappetizing to me. The meat also was not very juicy and didn't have any seasoning of any kind on it, making the burger have to rely on the fixings and not the meat itself.
The tomato and lettuce come separate from the burger and you can put it on itself and after touching them, they were warm, so it was pretty obvious that they were taken out of their containers and left out or under a heat lamp while the rest of the burger was being built. The jalapenos were very thick slices, which while it's not always a bad things, it is when the burger is so small (which we will get to later). The guacamole in my opinion was very bland. My fiance makes a kickass guacamole and if that was on this burger instead of their house guacamole, that might have made it go up a full point. I love sauteed onions and they went heavy on them, so they got some points there (but even then, that's just due to my love of the item). The bacon I personally didn't like because it was very chewy, but it had some good flavor so it wasn't a complete loss. The bun just seemed to be a generic bun that you could get at the store, so hard to give the burger praise there.
The burger itself was small compared to the price you were paying which is another thing that I try to take into account when grading as I don't want to send my fans to a place to pay more for a low quality burger when they could pay that money for something better, and that being said, if you want a lower quality burger I would send them to a place where they could get that on the cheap, but that's not here.

VERDICT: 1.5 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...

Lord's Kitchen

Lord's Kitchen San Antonio, TX 1/2 lb Cheeseburger Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Onion $10.25 I usually love my trips out of town because I get to go to a burger place that I don't have access to on a daily basis within my local area, but instead I was left with a severe feeling of disappointment on my drive home after eating a burger from the Lord's Kitchen. I opted to go with a regular cheeseburger because I wanted a full meal of fries and a drink and looking back now, I should maybe have gotten a specialty burger instead. The toppings that came on this burger were all the average things that you would expect from a burger place and it didn't taste like they were high quality, now they did not taste like they were of bad quality, just an average kind of taste. The meat, which I feel like should be the thing that you should take pride on, was bland. It honestly tasted to me like a burger that one may find at a drive thru like Burger King or Wend...
