For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money.
The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here
The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the patty, but it seemed to have mashed their diced jalapenos into the meat, which was GREAT. the jalapenos being mashed into the meat gave every bite a little kick, and then with the cheese melted on it was a great flavor. I had just a couple bites of the patty/cheese/jalapeno tag team by itself and it was good to eat just like that. The meat itself was pretty juicy, but I honestly couldn't tell if there was any seasoning due to all the other things glued to the burger and honestly, I was fine with it.
The bacon that was on the burger was just crispy enough to my liking and still retained a lof of flavor, also helps that they give you a good amount, I hate places that skimp on their bacon.
The Avocado was ripe and added a little bit of coolness to the burger, but near the end was just getting mushy everywhere, but for the first 3/4 of the burger, it was great.
The Spring Greens I feel were a little much on the burger, when the burger has so much already on it providing to the flavor, the greens don't really do much. A single slice of lettuce would have been adequate to do the job that the greens did. When it comes to the tomatoes, onions, and pickles you could tell that they were there but they didn't really contribute to the overall taste of the burger except giving it those natural tastes that you get from those particular veggies so while I could have lived without them, it was no biggie having them on there as well.
Overall, this burger has satisfied my tastes in so many ways, and was an awesome addition to this blog.

VERDICT: 4.5 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

Southwell's Hamburger Grill

Southwell's Hamburger Grill Houston, TX Bacon Cheeseburger Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, and Onions with American Cheese and Bacon. $6.40 For this week's burger trip, I decided to try out Southwell's Hamburger Grill in Houston, TX. Now I have lived in Houston my whole life and I have never heard about his place (despite it having 4 locations in the Houston area) until I looked through a burger suggestion post on Facebook, and frankly, I probably could have gone the rest of my life without hearing about it. Now before anyone jumps to any super negative conclusions, the burger wasn't "bad". It just was not what I was looking for. The meat was a pretty good size and was pretty juicy but didn't really have any seasoning, the bun seemed to be a typical hamburger bun out of a package, and the cheese seemed to be just a regular old slice of American cheese thrown on at the last parts of the grilling process. I didn't like how...

Omega Grill

Omega Grill Spring, TX BBQ Burger Farm 44 Meat, BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, & Fried Onions $12.99 For my first review back home, I decided to go to a place that I have always seen but never really tried until now and I am kind of mad at myself for not trying it to begin with. As I was researching this place, I found online that they have an award winning Breakfast Burger and I was very eager to try it as I hadn't really had a breakfast burger on this blog yet, so it was something new, but when I arrived at the place, it turns out that their prices online were wrong and this burger was going to be $17. I frankly just wasn't willing to take a chance that day on something I might not like, so I opted with what the waitress said was their 2nd most popular option, their BBQ burger, and I wasn't let down. First of all, I thought the presentation was great. How they stacked the onion rings and ingredients was super fun and I love it. But let's get ...

Walden War-Tejas Cafe

Tejas Cafe (Mariel's Deli) & (Walden Market) Montgomery, TX Tejas Burger Cheese, Jalapenos, Onions, Cilanto & Chipotle Mayo on a Jalapeno Bun (with Ketchup at Tejas Cafe Walden Market) $7 For this week, I had a friend recommend me a place to go but when looking up the place, I found that there were two of the same name on the same road and when I couldn't get a hold of said friend, I had a very tough decision to make. I either tried one and hoped it was the right one, or I TRY THEM BOTH. I got both, and therefore we have the War on Walden Road between the Two Tejas Cafes. Now both Tejas Cafes are within Shell gast stations on Walden road, one in the Shell that has "Mariel's Deli" and one that has "Walden Market". Before I start, I can tell there is some skepticism, "You want me to eat gas station food?" Trust me, I had THE SAME THOUGHT before I was led to this place, but holy shit was I wrong. THIS PLACE IS GREAT. Ri...
