Jack in the Box

Jack in the Box
Nationwide
Sourdough Jack
Tomato, Bacon, Swiss-style Cheese, Mayo, & Ketchup on Soughdough Bun
$5.39

I want to apologize to all my followers in advance as I was on a time crunch due to the holidays and could not find the time to properly select a place to review and instead in my chaotic Black Friday shopping, opted to go through a drive through and landed on Jack in the Box.
Back in high school, the Sourdough Jack was my go to burger because there was a Jack in the Box right in front of my neighborhood but honestly, since I graduated and moved, I found myself very seldom going to Jack in the Box in general and I don't know if my taste buds have changed or the burger ingredients have changed but I just didn't get the same enjoyment from this burger that I used to.
To put things into perspective, I liked the overall size of the burger, it was very filling, however the meat patty was not. It was a very thin patty (much thinner than I remember) and I found that most of the burger was just bread (which wasn't bad, we will get to that later).
The bacon was a cheap, flimsy bacon that I honestly wouldn't have known was there if I didn't physically see it. The cook blasted my burger with ketchup making almost every bite a ketchup explosion which I really didn't care for, but that has more to do with the cook error, then the overall burger. And lastly, the tomato were just basic fast food thin sliced tomatoes.
As far as what this burger did right, it wasn't much but there were 2 things. The Swiss-Style cheese was always something that I liked about this burger and was just a good cheese to have on, as I tend to get bored of burgers that just throw American Cheese on things and call it a day. And my favorite part of the burger is the Soughdough. I love Sourdough in general and wish I could find more burgers in my chase that are on Sourdough, which I think is why I yearned for this particular burger. It was big and flavorful especially with their slapped on butter and I think I would have just preferred getting two pieces of sourdough with the cheese on it instead of this burger.
Honestly, keep moving on and wait for next week when I review a REAL burger.

VERDICT: 1.5 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...

Bar Louie

Bar Louie The Woodlands, TX Bourbon BBQ Burger House-made Bourbon BBQ Sauce, White Cheddar, Cream Cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Crispy Onion Strings $12.50 While I do try my hardest to avoid the national chains in order to give more recognition to the mom and pop burger places out here trying to gain the success of the chains, I have to say, I was pretty blown off my feet by Bar Louie's Bourbon BBQ Burger. (Say that 5 times fast) The most interesting thing about this burger (and one thing I sadly had to dock them a little bit for) was the cream cheese. Cream Cheese on a burger tasted VERY good, I liked it for the first few bites, but then I kept hitting secret pockets of Cream Cheese that in some bites, that was all I was tasting. In moderation, this is an amazing topping to have on a BBQ burger. As we flip to the other cheese on the burger, we had white cheddar. White Cheddar is an excellent choice for a BBQ flavored burger, and while it was melted on to the...
