Dairy Cone

Dairy Cone
Columbus, TX
Cheeseburger
Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickles, American Cheese
$4.65

A few times a year, I like to go to San Antonio and one thing I have had to come to terms with is that there is not many burger places to find on I-10, but for my latest trip I managed to find one which I can only say had mixed results.
Dairy Cone (which is obviously a lazy rip off of Dairy Queen) is a small little burger window shop that has some pretty cheap burgers and looks to specialize in their blue bell ice cream products.
I opted to go with a simple cheeseburger because they didn't have many burgers in the terms of creativity.
The burger itself was alright. The bun was very soft and was probably one of the best parts of the whole burger. The cheese was super melty and if you got that SMC on the burger, you are going to get bonus points. The veggies were nothing to brag about and the meat itself wasn't very seasoned or very juicy, making it all around meh.
I do have to say that one of the things that I DID not like about this burger is that the place took FOREVER to make this burger and I didn't really get why. It wasn't that complicated of a burger nor was it busy, but it was almost 30 minutes from ordering to table for 2 burgers, so if you go here for a burger, you might want to expect a wait.
Now the ice cream here was really good! I think that this place is more focused on it's ice cream then it's burgers, so if you are considering going here, you may want to just focus on their diary products instead.

VERDICT: 2.5 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

BurgerFi

BurgerFi The Woodlands, TX Cheeseburger American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, BurgerFi Sauce $7.47 For today, I had the luck of being at BurgerFi's Customer Appreciation Day (which was really just a reopening) and happened to be one of the 50 who got the free burgers for a year, and normally I would be super excited about that, but unfortunately, the burger has me less excited that I have to eat 51 more of them within the next year. To start off, my order was wrong, which I get it was super busy so I'm not going to hold that against them, but I hope that is not a regular thing. Once I did get my correct order and sat down to eat, I was very surprised by how small the burger was. My fiance got a single patty burger and there was no way that was filling. When you have the double patty, it was a little more obviously, but the burgers are VERY hand held. The bun was probably my favorite part of the whole burger. It was thick enough to absorb the liquids on th...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...
