For this week, I had the opportunity to go to a really cool place in Downtown Houston called Natachee's Supper 'n Punch. And besides having a really fun name, they also have some quality burgers!
To be honest, the most interesting burger on the menu was the Astrodome Burger, but it was a 1/2 patty and I was not hungry at all, so I opted to not go with it and instead go with a burger with spice (which I LOVE). This burger honestly reminded me of the burger that I had a couple months back at Crazy Alan's Swamp Shack but I liked this one a lot more so while they may have the same score, this one is above it in the overall rankings.
Bypassing all the usual topping such as the Lettuce, Tomato, Mustard, Mayo, Pickles, & Onions we will start with the Cheddar which I felt was WAAAAAAY to piled on. The cheese actually engulfed the whole patty to the point where some of the bites, I didn't eve know I had meat in the bite. If I were to give this burger any advice, it would be to scale back on the cheese. Of course we don't want cheese, but we want to be able to taste the other parts!
The patty was great. it had the peppers and mushrooms cooked into the burger which made every bite of meat that I got with the peppers in it HOT. Couldn't complain about that. However, there were some bites that didn't have the peppers in it and the meat was pretty bland.
Finally, I loved the bread here. It was incredibly soft and thick and even though there wasn't too many juices from the actual burger, I feel like it would have stood up well to them if it did have them.
While the burger here was far from perfect, it was a good burger for the price and the spot itself was a really cool hangout that even had a dog friendly patio! There's a solid chance that I would go back to the establishment to eat, and maybe next time I will be hungry enough for the Astrodome Burger!

VERDICT: 3.5 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...

Bar Louie

Bar Louie The Woodlands, TX Bourbon BBQ Burger House-made Bourbon BBQ Sauce, White Cheddar, Cream Cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Crispy Onion Strings $12.50 While I do try my hardest to avoid the national chains in order to give more recognition to the mom and pop burger places out here trying to gain the success of the chains, I have to say, I was pretty blown off my feet by Bar Louie's Bourbon BBQ Burger. (Say that 5 times fast) The most interesting thing about this burger (and one thing I sadly had to dock them a little bit for) was the cream cheese. Cream Cheese on a burger tasted VERY good, I liked it for the first few bites, but then I kept hitting secret pockets of Cream Cheese that in some bites, that was all I was tasting. In moderation, this is an amazing topping to have on a BBQ burger. As we flip to the other cheese on the burger, we had white cheddar. White Cheddar is an excellent choice for a BBQ flavored burger, and while it was melted on to the...
