Burger Boy

Burger Boy
Conroe, TX
Big Boy
Pepperjack Cheese, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Sliced Jalapenos, Lettuce, Tomato
$6.99

While I am giving this burger a 3, I feel like I should give a disclaimer that this is a burger that should ONLY be eaten as a to go burger and not in the restaurant due to a very concerning fly problem.
The burger itself did have some good and bad to it. The pepperjack cheese on the burger was probably my favorite part. It was super melted on it and there was so much on it that it engulfed a large portion of the meat which allowed me to have it on almost all of the bites. The grilled onions were also very good, AND they were very gratuitous in the helpings of them. As far as the grilled mushrooms, I did not get them because I don't like mushrooms but if they were anything like the onions, they would probably be good as well.
The onions, lettuce, and tomato didn't seem to be anything worthy of note, so there is not much to put on that.
The meat was so-so. It was super juicy and FILLED with grease which is something that I love, but I didn't taste any seasoning or flavor on it which would have greatly helped this burger. The meat was also right in the middle of not being too hard and crumbling in my mouth.
The bun was a bit too hard for me, almost as if it may have been old, but it was still edible. The burger itself was average sized which I feel was appropriate for the price of this burger and it will fill you up for the price.
All in all, I think that this is a burger that you should definitely try if you are in the area, but it is probably not the best burger to make a special trip for, since you should have to turn around and take it to eat at home.

VERDICT: 3 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

Bombshell's

Bombshell's Texas The Green Beret Bacon, Guacamole, Jalapeno, Sauteed Onion, Lettuce, Tomato, & Blue Cheese Crumbles $13.95 Buckle up for a bumpy ride because there's not much going right with this burger this week. Now before I start tearing it apart, I do have to disclose that it was really busy so that MAY have something to do with parts of it, but it's hard to use that excuse to justify most of the faults this burger has. The meat itself was all around disappointing and actually caused me to not even eat the burger in it's entirety. While I get most of my burgers medium with a little pink, this burger was basically still mooing. Now like I said earlier, this could be due to how busy the kitchen was, but still it made the burger unappetizing to me. The meat also was not very juicy and didn't have any seasoning of any kind on it, making the burger have to rely on the fixings and not the meat itself. The tomato and lettuce come separate from...

BurgerFi

BurgerFi The Woodlands, TX Cheeseburger American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, BurgerFi Sauce $7.47 For today, I had the luck of being at BurgerFi's Customer Appreciation Day (which was really just a reopening) and happened to be one of the 50 who got the free burgers for a year, and normally I would be super excited about that, but unfortunately, the burger has me less excited that I have to eat 51 more of them within the next year. To start off, my order was wrong, which I get it was super busy so I'm not going to hold that against them, but I hope that is not a regular thing. Once I did get my correct order and sat down to eat, I was very surprised by how small the burger was. My fiance got a single patty burger and there was no way that was filling. When you have the double patty, it was a little more obviously, but the burgers are VERY hand held. The bun was probably my favorite part of the whole burger. It was thick enough to absorb the liquids on th...
