Burger Boy

Burger Boy
Conroe, TX
Big Boy
Pepperjack Cheese, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Sliced Jalapenos, Lettuce, Tomato
$6.99

While I am giving this burger a 3, I feel like I should give a disclaimer that this is a burger that should ONLY be eaten as a to go burger and not in the restaurant due to a very concerning fly problem.
The burger itself did have some good and bad to it. The pepperjack cheese on the burger was probably my favorite part. It was super melted on it and there was so much on it that it engulfed a large portion of the meat which allowed me to have it on almost all of the bites. The grilled onions were also very good, AND they were very gratuitous in the helpings of them. As far as the grilled mushrooms, I did not get them because I don't like mushrooms but if they were anything like the onions, they would probably be good as well.
The onions, lettuce, and tomato didn't seem to be anything worthy of note, so there is not much to put on that.
The meat was so-so. It was super juicy and FILLED with grease which is something that I love, but I didn't taste any seasoning or flavor on it which would have greatly helped this burger. The meat was also right in the middle of not being too hard and crumbling in my mouth.
The bun was a bit too hard for me, almost as if it may have been old, but it was still edible. The burger itself was average sized which I feel was appropriate for the price of this burger and it will fill you up for the price.
All in all, I think that this is a burger that you should definitely try if you are in the area, but it is probably not the best burger to make a special trip for, since you should have to turn around and take it to eat at home.

VERDICT: 3 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...

Bar Louie

Bar Louie The Woodlands, TX Bourbon BBQ Burger House-made Bourbon BBQ Sauce, White Cheddar, Cream Cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Crispy Onion Strings $12.50 While I do try my hardest to avoid the national chains in order to give more recognition to the mom and pop burger places out here trying to gain the success of the chains, I have to say, I was pretty blown off my feet by Bar Louie's Bourbon BBQ Burger. (Say that 5 times fast) The most interesting thing about this burger (and one thing I sadly had to dock them a little bit for) was the cream cheese. Cream Cheese on a burger tasted VERY good, I liked it for the first few bites, but then I kept hitting secret pockets of Cream Cheese that in some bites, that was all I was tasting. In moderation, this is an amazing topping to have on a BBQ burger. As we flip to the other cheese on the burger, we had white cheddar. White Cheddar is an excellent choice for a BBQ flavored burger, and while it was melted on to the...
