P. Terry's Burger Stand

P. Terry's Burger Stand
Austin, TX
Cheeseburger
Natural Black Angus Beef Patty, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Special Sauce
$2.85

During a trip to Austin, I decided to stop by an Austin exclusive burger stand chain that I was told by a coworker was a pretty good place, and while my wallet thanked me for the least expensive meal of the trip, my stomach did not.
The burger was very small (which one might expect for not even breaking $3), but it was not very filling as far as meals go, now of course once you add in the fries and milkshake it was good, but burger wise, very small.
The meat tasted like basic fast food meat and wouldn't blow any minds in the burger community so it was hard to see what was the big draw of the place. The secret sauce is a combination of mild Russian dressing and american cheese melted together, which I wouldn't say was "bad" but it was so slathered on that the sauce overpowered everything else so I was just tasting the sauce most of the time. The toppings were basic fast food toppings, so nothing to really write about on that front and then the burger was actually super hard so it just added to the unpleasantness of the burger overall.
Lastly, it's hard to give really any points for creativity, as their menu is very scarce, in honesty the only thing they put on that would any different than any burger joint is the above mentioned sauce.
Bottom line, if you are going to Austin, pay a little extra and go to a sit down restaurant that can give you a good burger.

VERDICT: 2 out of 5 Stars.

And so the Chase continues…

The Dugout

The Dugout Texarkana, Arkansas Double Header & The Slugger Double Header-2 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Single Patty The Slugger-Single with Cheddar Cheese, Grilled Pineapple, Bang Bang Sauce, served on a White Bun $8.99 (Double Header), $6.29 (The Slugger) Over the past few weeks, I have been very busy with work and then on vacation road tripping to Nashville, Tennessee. So naturally on this road trip I had to get some burgers, and I decided to get multiple burgers at each stop to make up for all the weeks that I missed. The first burger I tried was the Double Header. In the easiest way to describe it, this was a burger patty smashed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Now this doesn't seem like the most creative burger in the world, but it was FUN burger. And it was REALLY good. The Dugout is a hidden gem in Texarkana, their burgers are great! Now while I would love to give this burger a lot of points, I have to take into consideratio...

BurgerFi

BurgerFi The Woodlands, TX Cheeseburger American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, BurgerFi Sauce $7.47 For today, I had the luck of being at BurgerFi's Customer Appreciation Day (which was really just a reopening) and happened to be one of the 50 who got the free burgers for a year, and normally I would be super excited about that, but unfortunately, the burger has me less excited that I have to eat 51 more of them within the next year. To start off, my order was wrong, which I get it was super busy so I'm not going to hold that against them, but I hope that is not a regular thing. Once I did get my correct order and sat down to eat, I was very surprised by how small the burger was. My fiance got a single patty burger and there was no way that was filling. When you have the double patty, it was a little more obviously, but the burgers are VERY hand held. The bun was probably my favorite part of the whole burger. It was thick enough to absorb the liquids on th...

The Kitchen

The Kitchen The Woodlands, TX Cowboy Burger White Cheddar, Yellow Cheddar, Avocado, Bacon, Mixed Greens, Jalapenos, Onions, Tomatoes, Dill Pickles, Akaushi Wagyu on a Brioche Bun $13.50 For this week, I kept it very local and went to an establishment that was right across the street from my work. Going into it, I honestly didn't know what to expect because I had seen very good reviews on Facebook, but no one I personally knew had been to it so it was a bit of an enigma, and let me tell you, Facebook hit right on the money. The burger itself SOUNDS a lot bigger than it is. Don't get me wrong, it's no small burger, but just from the list of ingredients it sounds like it was going to be big, instead it was just tall. When looking at what all is on this burger, it's already got to get points for creativity. There's like a whole party of ingredients going on here The first thing I noticed was the patty. Not only do they melt their cheeses on to the p...
