Bacon Cheeseburger

For this week's burger trip, I decided to try out Southwell's Hamburger Grill in Houston, TX. Now I have lived in Houston my whole life and I have never heard about his place (despite it having 4 locations in the Houston area) until I looked through a burger suggestion post on Facebook, and frankly, I probably could have gone the rest of my life without hearing about it.
Now before anyone jumps to any super negative conclusions, the burger wasn't "bad". It just was not what I was looking for. The meat was a pretty good size and was pretty juicy but didn't really have any seasoning, the bun seemed to be a typical hamburger bun out of a package, and the cheese seemed to be just a regular old slice of American cheese thrown on at the last parts of the grilling process.
I didn't like how they did their Tomatoes and Onions however, they were chopped into big monstrous slices so you were either biting into a big bite of them, or they were falling out of the burger.I DID like the bacon. It was very crispy and very flavorful, so if you do go, you wouldn't go wrong getting one of the burger options that includes bacon.
So taste wise, the burger was just an average run of the mill burger, but what really upset me is the price for what you pay. I don't mind paying close to 7 dollars for a burger that is creative or even if it's a basic burger that's going to knock my socks off, but for this burger AND not to mention this DOES NOT include fries, it's simply insane in my opinion.
On a secondary note, the Waffle Fries are really great!
VERDICT: 3 out of 5 Stars.
And so the Chase continues…
